April 29, 1957 - February 3, 2023

James Christopher Johnson passed away February 3, 2023, at the age of 65.
Chris was born April 29, 1957 in Dallas to J.M. and Jo Evelyn Johnson. His father owned Johnson Electric Company, and was proud of his 100% Norwegian heritage. Growing up with his siblings Jency Hills, John Mark Johnson, and Joel David Johnson. As a student at WT White High School he played the trumpet in the band. He went on to graduate from Texas A&M and was always proud to be an Aggie.
Chris and his wife Barbara met due to their shared love of country music. They were married August 28, 2004 and were fortunate to have 18 years together. Their love was so strong that it did not end with Barbara's death in a car accident. Chris joined her very soon after.
Chris was a hard worker, dedicated to his job, and always made sure he provided for his family. He was a project manager of airports and loved his work. He was excited about retiring with Barbara in the very near future and moving to their farm. When he was not working, he loved taking vacations in the mountains. He enjoyed snow skiing, fishing, and square dancing with his wife. He loved being outdoors and working on his farm.
Chris is reunited with his beloved wife, Barbara Johnson.
In order to honor Chris' life, a visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 beginning at 11am in the Magnolia Chapel at Corley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
