Every year, dozens of student organizations get funding from gifts made to The Association of Former Students.
Requests may come from Texas A&M or from student applications to the Student Organization Funding Assistance Board. Such support for Aggie students is a central part of The Association’s mission; add your support at tx.ag/Give.
Here are a few of the student groups that have gotten Association funding so far this school year!
The fledgling Aggie Ballet Company (formed in 2021) initially got Association funds to reserve audition space and recruit members. Recently, they’ve received more funds to reserve dance rooms with injury-preventing floors and invite a professional teacher.
Aggie Band members brought the pulse of Aggieland to Alabama and other away games this year with help from Association travel funds. In a video thanking Association donors (tx.ag/DSAthanks), former head drum major Will Toronjo ’22 said, “Having the Aggie Band come to those away games means a lot to the team; it means a heck of a lot to the fans. It just means the world… Thank you so much.”
Officers and members of the Hindu Student Association celebrate after a successful Dandiya Night that welcomed 300 attendees. The group also hosts the popular Holi celebration on campus. Treasurer Pravalika R. Manchi ’25 wrote, “Thank you all for everything you do for Texas A&M University, and for supporting students like us who enjoy sharing these cultural experiences with the people around us!”
“We sincerely appreciate you helping get our club off the ground last semester,” said Texas A&M Chess Club president James Lockwood ’22. Association funds “allowed us to purchase high-quality boards and clocks that will last for many years, among other necessities,” he said. “Our community has only grown stronger ever since.”
