Dennis Roy Parrish ’68 (OleArmyBQ68) resident of Daphne, AL – Born July 23, 1946, in Beeville, TX passed away February 25, 2022. He grew up in Mathis, TX before moving to Agua Dulce, TX. Graduated from Texas A&M University in 1968 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Dennis was a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band (Commanding Officer of the White Band 1967-1968), Ross Volunteer, MSC SCONA, and Distinguished Military Graduate.
He served in the US Army – Adjunct General’s Corps 1968-1970 (Ft. Sam Houston, TX) – US Medical Training Center – Lendman Associates (San Antonio). Worked for the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and Port of Corpus Christi. Worked at Texas A&M Association of Former Students. Owner/Operator of the “12th Man & Co” in College Station (had PO Box 12 in Northgate Post Office). After moving to Alabama became Owner/Operator of the Sports Shack (Sponsor of the Omar’s Tent Shop Softball Team). Later employed by Gary Bornfleth Nissan, Joe Bullard Automotive & Luxury Cars of Mobile.

Grandchildren – Brittany (Conner ’17) Cawley (’17) of Lavon, TX, Casey Parrish of Katy, TX, Caleb Parrish of San Marcos, TX, William & Kylie Parrish, Katy, TX, Samantha (Hunter ’16) Walling (‘17) of Houston, TX, Stephanie Bates (’19) of Ft. Worth, TX,. Great-granddaughter – Camden Cawley (’42). Niece – Audrey Dobbins Graham of Corpus Christi, TX, Godson – Clarke R. Mays (Santa Fe, NM) and a host of Aggie friends.
Dennis loved his Aggie sports, never met a stranger and is remembered for his great smile and wit. In his earlier years he was an avid golfer. He had a strong faith in God, believed in Angels and loved watching Cardinals on his birdfeeders. He was lovingly cared for in his final days by Miranda Wansley, RN with Comfort Care, Daphne, AL.
Celebration of Life – April 1, 2022, at 12:00 noon - VFW Bryan, Texas.
