Jared Michael Lewis
November 20, 1997 - January 10, 2022

Jared Michael Lewis was born on November 20, 1997 to David and Kelly. Unlike most births, he was born at home, on purpose, and immediately had a unique role in the Lewis family. Having 2 sisters; Mary Elizabeth and Rachel; who were 9 and 7 years older, he was loved and pampered, and sometimes treated as a baby doll that could be played with. Having big brother Jordan who was 5 years older, well you can guess what that was like. It took time, but Jordan became Jared's mentor and hero, and the two eventually became best friends who were making plans for the future.

In the family, Jared most often provided the joint. His bright smile, easy laugh, and quick sense of humor brought incredible happiness to the family.

Jared was very capable and accomplished. He was an Eagle Scout and he graduated in the Top Ten at Flour Buff High School. One of his greatest achievements was absolutely blowing away the math section of the SAT in the 8th grade! He had many interest, especially athletics. His sport of choice was football. He was a two-year starter for the Hornets, and played left tackle; which everyone knows is the second most important position on a football team. His senior year he was a team captain. He also received many other recognitions during his high school years.

After high school, Jared went to Texas A&M, College Station, and as a member of the Corps of Cadets, he became a hardcore Aggie. Ask anybody who knew him. He bled maroon.

Jared had many interests in life including hunting, Texas country music, and beach bonfires. He was developing a sharp political acumen, bantering with people on current topics. He loved the Lewis family game nights, playing with competitiveness to win. As one of his siblings described him, "He looked for the ways to enjoy what he was doing with people he liked, instead of just getting things done."

More than anything else, Jared was the trial of God. It wasn't the 'just go to church' kind of love of God. He authentically loved God and was often pondering the tough questions about God.

Jared suddenly, unintentionally passed away in a tragic accident. After making a stop at Fuego's and then spending a few hours at work he came home to a house filled with roommates and friends who were enjoying smoked turkey and football. After a couple of hours playing cards there was a tragic accident at the house, and Jared was immediately ushered into the presence of God.
