Howdy, Ags!

We recently interviewed one of our Classmates, Wade Hill, to see what he's been up to since he left Aggieland. Hope y'all enjoy!

What have you've been doing since graduation, and where you are at now?
Howdy Ags! I’m Wade Hill ’13 Construction Science major from Pleasanton, TX. While at A&M, I was a member of the Corps of Cadets, Squadron 17 and Parsons Mounted Cavalry. I was a member of the Old Army Gentlemen’s Society, or Ol’ Ags. I was a Fish A.I.D.E. and served as a counselor for Fish Camp 2011, Camp Carrascosa.

After graduating in 2014, I went to work for Manhattan Construction as a member of the Kyle Field Redevelopment Team. After working in Houston for a while, I got the chance to move closer to home and work in San Antonio for Clark Construction building the new Frost Tower basically on the SA Riverwalk.

In August, I accepted a Project Manager position with Capital Acoustical Co. here in Georgetown. So, I’m learning my way around Central Texas, playing guitar for Wynn Williams ’16 on the weekends and loving life.

How did you get involved with your band?
My younger brother, Adam ’18, had been playing fiddle for Wynn for a few months when I got the chance to see one of their sets in San Antonio. Wynn was just getting his start and I loved his classic country sound. He mentioned that they were still trying to nail down a lead guitar player. So, I jumped all over it.

What has been the most challenging part of your music career and how did experiences at A&M help prepare you for the musician lifestyle?
My experiences at A&M, as a whole, are probably what prepared me the most for what turned out to be the most challenging part of being a working musician.

I would love to be able to play music full time. But, it doesn’t pay the bills single handedly just yet. My heavy involvement at A&M taught me the keys to successful time management. These have turned into the keys to successfully balancing a Work/Music schedule.

What has been the most interesting experience you've gotten to be a part of while touring?
We’ve had the chance to play with some of the biggest names in country music (I hate name-dropping…) all while touring several iconic Texas venues, ie: Gruene Hall, John T. Floore’s Country Store, White Oak Amphitheater, Cheatham Street, the Blue Light (Lubbock & Dallas).
Out of State we’ve played Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, George’s Majestic Lounge and the JBGB in Fayetteville.

And in December, we’re headed to Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo to play with Gary Allan. Sorry, I know…, had to name-drop for that one. We’re pumped!

Have you made it back to College Station to play? When will the band be playing in Aggieland next?
We’ve had the opportunity to play Cstat several times and it’s always a blast. We’re coming back to Hurricane Harry’s on October 18th with Kyle Park. Come join us!

Anything else you'd like to share?
New Music is Out Now! We’ve just released a pre-order for our upcoming full-length self-titled album. There are five songs available for download instantly while the remainder of the album will become available in Winter 2020. You can check it out here wynnwilliamsmusic.com/music.
