FIVE FAST FACTS
to help ensure a positive Ring Day experience
1. The Aggie Ring Day entrance has moved.
Beginning with the Ring Days of April 12 & 13, 2019, the entrance to Ring Day has moved to the Alumni Center's parking lot, which is on the east side of the building, by Throckmorton Street.
If you ride the Ring Day Shuttle from West Campus Garage or Lot 100, you will be dropped off at the correct entrance.
If you are using a ride share service (Uber or Lyft), you'll be dropped off near the correct entrance, just a short walk up Throckmorton Street.
If you are walking from campus, use the sidewalk on Throckmorton Street (beside the vice president's house) instead of using the sidewalk along Houston Street (beside Kyle Field).
If you need a disability-accessible entrance, take the free Ring Day Shuttle and tell the driver you need to get off at the ADA-compliant entrance, where there is a ramp.
2. Park in West Campus Garage and ride the Ring Day Shuttle.
By far, the best option for parking is to park on west campus and ride the free shuttle to Ring Day. If you have a valid campus parking permit, you can use it to park in Lot 100. If not, you can pay just $5 to park in the West Campus Garage.
You can pay for your parking in advance so you don't have to worry about it on Ring Day. Go to http://transport.tamu.edu/Parking/events/annual.aspx and select "Ring Day."
From WCG, the free and fully accessible shuttle will take you directly to the Alumni Center and drop you off at the right spot. The shuttles, which will run until about 45 minutes after the end of Aggie Ring Day, will also take you back to Lot 100/WCG.
Please note that Houston Street near the Alumni Center will be closed to all traffic except the Ring Day shuttles.
There is no parking available at the Alumni Center on Ring Day.
You can choose to park at the Cain Garage instead of West Campus Garage, but be aware that Cain charges by the hour instead of the flat $5 Ring Day charge at WCG. Also, the dedicated Ring Day shuttles do NOT stop at Cain.
3. Check tx.ag/RingDayStatus for updates (and don't show up too early).
Throughout the day, we will post status updates at tx.ag/RingDayStatus. These updates will include whether the day is proceeding on schedule, basic weather observations, notice of anything that has changed, and any other important information that we believe you need to know. Here's an example status update from a previous Ring Day:

In addition to following these updates at tx.ag/RingDayStatus, you can follow them on Twitter by following @AggieRingDay.
Check those updates before you head to Ring Day so you will know whether things are running on schedule and whether anything has changed.
It's also important to remember that showing up super early will not get your Aggie Ring on your hand any faster. Plan to be at the Alumni Center about 15-20 minutes before your group time. Your group time — that's the time printed on your ticket — is the approximate time at which your group will be called onto the Haynes Ring Plaza. You will be let into the building after 15 minutes after that.
4. Don't forget your Ring Ticket, Ring Receipt, and ID.
You will need to show your Ring Ticket to get onto the Ring Plaza and into the building. Your Ring Ticket is the document that shows your group number and time. Click here to see what a Ring Ticket looks like.
After you get inside, you will need to show your Ring Receipt and an ID to receive your Ring. Click here to see what a Ring Receipt looks like. If you do not have your Ring Receipt, you will have to show two forms of ID. Acceptable IDs include your driver's license, your Texas A&M student ID, a military ID, or a passport.
5. Make thoughtful decisions — and check your email!
Ring Day is a celebration of remarkable achievement, but it is also crowded, loud, and logistically complex. In order to safely manage a crowd of tens of thousands, the entire day is carefully scheduled, and all movement into, out of, and around the Alumni Center is carefully controlled. There is no seating at all, and you will not be able to linger inside the building to celebrate or take photos, as we have to clear the building to make room for the next group.
Before you arrive for Aggie Ring Day, please consider all these factors, as they can affect the health, safety, and comfort of you and your guests.
While you are at Aggie Ring Day, please be aware of your surroundings, listen for announcements and be prepared for the possibility of last-minute changes due to weather or other events beyond our control.
If you are receiving an Aggie Ring at this Ring Day, you have received email from us with instructions, information and helpful links, and will receive another the day before Ring Day.
If you are coming to Ring Day as a guest of a Ring recipient, please ask that person to forward our planning emails to you, so you can be prepared.
