Christopher Lynn Reed

November 6, 1957 – November 25, 2018

Christopher Lynn Reed, 61, went to his heavenly home on November 25, 2018 after a valiant battle with an aggressive brain tumor. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Terri Jan and his son Elliot and daughter Hannah. He was born in Clovis, New Mexico on November 6, 1957 to Marion and Nancy Reed. With his Dad serving as a local missionary and pastor, the family moved to Texas. Chris was immersed in the Christian community at an early age and he would support and serve the Lord and Christian family throughout his life. He and his family were members of the Crestview Baptist Church in Arlington for more than 30 years. Chris was a pillar in the church serving its members as a Deacon, Music Director, and Treasurer. It is said that when the church doors were open, he was there serving. He will be missed.
Chris graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A & M University in 1980 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and accepted a position at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. He would later obtain his Masters in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A & M then his Ph.D from the University of Texas at Arlington. His primary work was to develop an in-house capability in the emerging science of
Computational Fluid Dynamics. He worked to help resolve equations of fluid flow on aircraft configurations. This work evolved into the development of the FALCON code that continues to be a primary tool used in the industry.
At home, Chris was often enjoying time acting as a creative handyman and carpenter. He actually managed and supervised the construction of their home and added many enhancements over the following years.
Chris was blessed with an extended loving family. He is survived by his parents, his brothers and their wives, Gary and Frances Reed, Terry and Lauri Reed, Donald and Camille Reed along with their children and grandchildren, his wife’s family with mother Betty Taylor, sisters and their husbands, Marilyn and Dan Akins, Cherilyn and John Mushlitz, Gail and Carl Nairn. His loving father-in-law, Bill Taylor, went
home to the Lord in 2011. Chris is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
