March 16, 1936 - February 2, 2019

ROBERT (Bob) J. BALHORN, SR., 82, took his last flight as he departed this world on February 2, 2019. He was born March 16, 1936, in Cameron, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, William W. Balhorn and his wife, Bertha M. Andres Balhorn, one daughter, Kristan (Krissy) E. Balhorn Sines. Bob is survived by his wife, Janice Leisen Balhorn and one son, R. J. Balhorn of Dallas, TX and 3 grandchildren.

Bob graduated in 1958 from Texas A & M University as a R.O.T.C. Officer with an Aeronautical Degree. Bob immediately entered the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and served until 1963. He became a B- 47 Bomber Pilot and flew several missions during the Cuban/Kennedy Crisis.

Bob met his future wife, Janice Leisen, from Aberdeen, S.D., as "Miss Wool of South Dakota" in the national contest at San Angelo, TX. Air Force Officers were asked to escort the contestants and Bob escorted Janice. A fairytale romance evolved and Bob and Janice were married on May 14, 1960.

Bob joined forces with a brother-in-law and moved to Aberdeen , S.D. to enter the Real Estate business. Later Bob and Janice moved to Little Rock and entered the Real Estate Industry here. Bob became the Vice President of the Arkansas Real Estate Association and a Registered Lobbyist. Bob refused to retire and maintained his own business as a Real Estate Appraiser. He also was the broker for a Real Estate Auction firm.

Bob had many loves besides his family as his first love. He had been an active water skier, loved woodworking and building. He remained faithful to the Texas A & M University and was a dedicated and devoted "Aggie" all his life. He was a member of the Texas A & M Association of Former Students and attended every football game that the Aggies played against the Razorbacks until this past year. He failed to go due to severe illness.
