Jimmy Bacon always knew he was going to be an Aggie. In 2012, the veteran of Operation Desert Storm was able to fulfill his lifelong dream. “Texas A&M’s commitment to their military program and to student veterans returning to college is what ensured I continued and graduated from A&M after serving in the United States Navy.”
Jimmy graduated in 2016 with a degree in maritime studies. His desire to further the university’s commitment to helping students is what inspired him to give back. He became a Century Club donor with the goal of providing current and future students with the “opportunity to access scholarships and financial aid and provide a clearer path to their goal of graduating from Texas A&M.”
He has seen his gifts make a difference for other Aggies. “Through the years, I have witnessed numerous scholarships given to hardworking students who put forth the effort in earning a competitive and sought-after award. When you see what this means not only to the students but also their families, this is something you want to remain part of for years to come.”
