Alan Ewers(1955 - 2017)
Laguna Vista, TX - Alan was born September 21, 1955, and passed away peacefully at home Saturday morning on September 16th, 2017 after a year-long battle with cancer.

Alan grew up in McAllen, TX, and graduated from McAllen High School in1974 where he was an active member of the swim team and the marching band. He graduated from TAMUG in 1979 with a B.S. in Marine Science. He had a 25-year career teaching Chemistry and Physical Science at Lost Fresnos High School.

His lifelong passions included fishing, surfing, and windsurfing at which he excelled. He enjoyed nature and working in his yard. He loved picking and sharing his Bayview citrus with friends and family. He had a deep love for all animals and a passion for rescuing and protecting them.

Alan Ewers was preceded in death by his parents, J. F. Ewers, Jr., and Mary Dean, and his brother, Bill Ewers. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Kit Doncaster Ewers, his five beloved cats (Cindy Lu, Dale, Shamu, Nemo, and Orca), his older brother David Ewers (Leslie) of McAllen, Texas; his half-brother, JF (Stone) Ewers, III (Paige Ann) from Tulsa, OK, and half-sister, Michelle Craig (John) of Vancouver, W.A.; nephews Richard Ewers (Elissa) of Dallas, Tx, and Trevor Ewers of Midland, MI; mother in law Marguerite Doncaster, sister in laws Peggy Chang (Franklin), Joy Doncaster, nieces and nephews; brother in laws King Doncaster, Keith Doncaster.

A memorial service will be held October 1, 2017 at the jetties at 9:30 AM where his ashes will be dispersed. Those attending the tribute may use any personal water craft or view the "paddle out" from the beach or jetties. Limited space is available aboard the Murphy's Law for those with special needs.
