WACO, TX - Joe Calao (BA, Communications, 1982-1987, Texas A&M) was recently named to the Top 401 Retirement Advisors of 2017 list by Financial Times. The list recognizes the top financial advisors who specialize in serving defined contribution/401(k) retirement plans.
Calao is senior vice president of wealth management and senior retirement plan consultant at Calao Wealth Management Group in Waco, part of UBS. He started in the financial services industry in 1996 and has since earned CIMA®, CRPC® and CRPS® designations. These designations, in addition to his knowledge and experience, make him part of an elite group included in this year’s list of Top 401 Retirement Advisors.
“Being named to the Top Advisor List is something I am very proud of, especially because it honors the trust my clients place in me to provide retirement plan guidance to help both the individual participants and the company,” Calao said.
Calao is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is actively involved in the Waco community including Rotary, REACH, Humane Society of Central Texas and Waco Symphony Orchestra.
This is the third annual Top 401 Advisor List, produced independently by the Financial Times in collaboration with Ignites Research. Financial Times identified qualified advisors based on experience of at least $50m in defined contribution plan assets and at least 20 percent of client assets in defined contribution plans. Advisors were then graded on seven factors including experience, industry certifications and client retention.
