Andrew Jack Tickle
Andrew Jack Tickle, DVM of San Marcos passed away June 14, 2017 at the age of 92. Jack was born in Ballinger, Texas to Cora and Herbert Tickle on Nov. 18, 1924. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen, and his parents. Jack is survived by: his wife of
70 years, Bobbie Tickle, of San Marcos; brother, Edwin Tickle; daughter, Cheryl Tickle-Ward, of Round Rock; granddaughter, Alicia Green, and husband, Mike, of Tomball; grandson, Robbie Bullian, of Houston, grandson, Drew Ward, of Austin; and great-grandson,
Kelvin Zeringue, of Tomball. Jack grew up on the family ranch in Concho, Texas and graduated from Millersview High school in 1940. He then attended Texas A&M to study veterinary medicine. He served in the US Army and Navy during WWII. Jack graduated from A&M
in 1949 with the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. From 1949 to 1950, Dr. Tickle worked in Mexico with the US/ Mexican effort for Aftosa (Foot and Mouth) eradication as a Veterinary Inspector. He joined Green Valley Cattle Company in San Marcos in 1950.
Dr. Tickle established Tickle Animal Hospital in 1954 and retired in 1993 at the age of 68. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday July 22, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2131 N IH 35, San Marcos TX. Memorial Donations may be made to the San
