What is your most memorable Aggie experience?
One of my most memorable Aggie experiences was during the summer after my sophomore year. I had stayed in College Station for summer school, and a handful of us snuck onto the roof of the MSC to watch the fireworks on July 4, 2004. We didn’t have camera phones
then, but I remember calling my dad from the roof just to tell him how beautiful it was.
How has your time at Texas A&M impacted where you are today, personally and/or professionally?
There are so many opportunities at Texas A&M to try new things and to take risks. I wasn’t accepted into every class or organization that I interviewed for, but I met so many diverse groups of people and learned a lot about myself along the way. I think those
life experiences, together with my first-class education, have given me a lot of confidence. That confidence has allowed me to continue to take risks, ask questions, and venture outside my comfort zone, and I will always be grateful for that.
Where do you work and what is your role? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?
After graduating from Texas A&M, I spent almost 11 years at Duff and Phelps, the largest valuation advisory and consulting firm in the world. I recently changed jobs and am now a Director at a ASQ Consulting, a boutique professional services firm that specializes
in dispute consulting, business strategy, and transaction services. Much of my work consists of quantifying economic damages in disputes involving patent infringement or misappropriation of trade secrets. What excites me the most about this line of work are
the high stakes that come with presenting an opinion in front of a judge or jury. We often spend months conducting analyses and preparing an expert report, but we typically have less than an hour to present our final opinion in a courtroom before a verdict
is reached.
Where can we find you when you are not at work? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or Sunday afternoon?
My fiancé and I recently purchased a new home that backs up to a nature preserve with lots of mature trees and an amazing breeze. So currently my favorite way to spend a weekend is chasing our nephews around the backyard, or just sitting on the patio with a
glass of wine and a good book.
What do you miss most about Texas A&M or Bryan/College Station?
I miss the food! Mi Cocina, Potato Shack, Layne’s, Pita Pit, the list goes on…
