What is your most memorable Aggie experience? I always go back to one of the simplest yet most impressionable memories as a first generation Aggie. My first weekend on campus I was walking back to my dorm after celebrating our first home
football game win, saying "Howdy!" to everyone I passed. One particular exchange turned into a 4 hour conversation and a new friendship for life. It was that night that I realized the power of a single word and a smile. And it was that night that I realized
how truly special ALL of A&M’s traditions are.
Where can we find you when you are not at work? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or Sunday afternoon?
When I’m not at work, I’m probably either hiking trails with my dog, traveling, watching A&M football, or being completely lazy. I have a lot of evening and weekend work events, so sometimes all I want to do is hang out on the couch in my pajamas.
Where do you work and what is your role? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make? Sometimes I pinch myself wondering if my job is real or if I’m living in a crazy dream. I get to manage the relationships and marketing with some of Coca-Cola’s pro sports, university and entertainment partners. My partners include motor sports (NASCAR, NHRA), theme parks, top universities, and pro sports teams within NFL, MLB, NHL and MLS. I love the relationship building aspect of my job, and exploring new technologies with my partners to be on the cutting edge of our industry. However, the most rewarding part of my work is creating unique experiences that create lasting memories for others. Speaking of memories, one of my more surreal moments working at Coca-Cola was giving fellow Aggie Jake Matthews a customized “Share a Coke with Jake” can shortly after he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons. One year later during the Falcons draft party, Jake mentioned to my co-worker what a cool moment that was for him and how he still keeps that can in his locker and remembers our interaction. Then there was the time I jammed out with Shania Twain and David Copperfield at a Justin Bieber concert… I’m still not sure how that entire situation happened.
What do you miss most about Texas A&M or Bryan/College Station? How happy everyone is! I was not at all surprised The Huffington Post named A&M the happiest college in 2013. I love living in Philadelphia, but I wouldn’t mind if some of that contagious happiness was transported here. ?
