Four Aggie authors will be together at the MSC bookstore on Saturday, Oct. 12, to sign copies of their various books about Aggies in wartime service.
The four authors will appear together at the MSC bookstore starting at 3 p.m., prior to the 6:30 kickoff of the Aggie football game against Ole Miss on Military Appreciation Day.
James Woodall '50 is the author of Texas Aggie Medals of Honor and 12 Texas Aggie War Heroes.
Michael Lee Lanning '68 has done four books for the A&M Press. His latest is Texas Aggies in Vietnam: War Stories.
John Adams '73 recently published The Fightin' Texas Aggie Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor.
Jerry Cooper '63, a former editor of Texas Aggie magazine for The Association of Former Students, is the editor of To Bataan and Back: The World War II Diary of Major Thomas Dooley, which has just been released by the A&M Press. Dooley was head yell leader in 1935 and served as Gen. Jonathan Wainwright's aide at Bataan and Corregidor. He was a POW for more three years and later witnessed the surrender aboard the USS Missouri as well as the Japanese surrender in the Philippines.
