Today is Aggie Ring Day!
Listen up, Ring recipients. We have a message just for you:
First, we at The Association want to say, we are SO EXCITED for you! We've had smiles on our faces all week. This is a major accomplishment and we have done lots of preparation to make sure the day is a happy one!
Speaking of preparation, we want you to know now that there is a chance of rain or thunderstorms on Friday. Rain alone ordinarily will not cause any delays to the Aggie Ring delivery schedule, but lightning and other severe weather could force delivery delays.
While it's strange to think of Ring Day as an outside event, that's exactly what it is. You will spend 15 minutes indoors receiving your Ring; all the rest of Ring Day will be held outside. There will be a minimum of 3/4 mile walking, 90-degree+ weather, chance of rain, and no places to sit down.
We are right there with you and completely understand that you want your family to celebrate your Ring Day with you, but keep their needs in mind. A great idea is to get your Ring and then meet your family with mobility concerns elsewhere to celebrate.
Whether Ring Day rolls right on schedule or there are delays, we will post regular status updates at tx.ag/RingDayStatus. You can receive status updates delivered as text messages to your cell phone by texting “follow AggieRingDay” to 40404. We promise not to use your texts for any purpose other than Ring Day status reports, and you can unfollow once Ring Day is over. You can also receive our status reports by following @AggieRingDay on Twitter.
So whatever happens, rest easy that we will be in constant contact.

So, Aggies! We'll see you tomorrow! Don't forget your Ring ticket AND two of the following: your Ring receipt, your driver's license or another official ID. You'll need them to get your Ring. Also, don't forget, there's no parking at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center--your best bet is to use Lot 100 (no fee with any valid permit) or pay to park in West Campus Garage. The Ring Shuttle will pick up from West Campus Garage.
P.S.-- Check your email. We sent you a note with all sorts of helpful information. Be a good Ag and read it in its entirety. We want the very best Ring Day for you! Your preparation will help make it happen!
