Norman N. Novosad, Sr., 94 of Point Comfort passed away February 11, 2016. He was born February 8, 1922 in East Bernard, Texas to the late Joseph and Mary Chupik Novosad. Mr. Novosad was a 1942 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in accounting. After graduation Norman went into Civilian Pilot Training and then directly into the United States Air Force serving during World War II. After serving his country Mr. Novosad went to work as an accountant at ALCOA. He was also a member of the VFW in Port Lavaca, the American Legion in Blessing, the ALCOA 25 Year Club, and the Texas A&M Century Club since 1978. Mr. Novosad had a love for fishing and hunting, but his true passion was flying.
Norman is survived by his wife, Naomi Hribek Novosad, daughter, Nancy N. Buffaloe of Friendswood; son, Norman Novosad, Jr. of Port Lavaca; granddaughters, Tracee B. Price and husband Vince, and Lissa B. Traber and husband Daniel; and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Paige Price; his niece, Pat N. Lester; and his beloved dog Glory.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Novosad was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Gus Novosad.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas with the Rev. Carl Westbrook officiating.
