Activities Involved in while at Texas A&M:

Howdy Ags and Freshman Leadership Development Retreat

What is your most memorable Aggie experience?

A group of friends and I went to Wolf Pen Creek to play capture the flag (and maybe do some ice-blocking) late one Friday night.  There were some other Ags, who we hadn't met until that night, out at the park as well.  When we all realized it was too late to make it back to campus for Midnight Yell, we had our own little Yell Practice right there at the amphitheater.

How has your time at Texas A&M impacted where you are today, personally and/or professionally?

I remember hearing Bobby Tucker say, "we don't give you the Aggie Spirit, we just help you set it free."  It's the idea that we have what it takes, but we all need a little help to find it in us.  I will never under estimate the power of the Aggie Network!  Use your connections; you never know who might be able to help you reach your goals.

Where do you want to be in 5 years?

Bora Bora Four Seasons Resort!  Seriously though, I'm hoping to grow my family and continue my teaching career.

Where can we find you when you are not at work? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend  or Sunday afternoon?

I enjoy kayaking, hiking, yoga, music, and cooking.

Where do you work and what is your role? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?

I am a middle school science teacher at Hyde Park School in Austin.  I love watching those "ah ha!" expressions on my kiddos' faces!  I enjoy my curriculum content area, but the best part of teaching is the chance to build relationships with and mentor young teens.

What do you miss most about Texas A&M or Bryan/College Station?

It's hard to pick just one thing!  BCS is definitely the most friendly place I've ever lived.  However, I think I might miss Layne's the very most!

What would be impossible for you to give up? Time with my family - daughter Abigail (3) and husband John.
