GARRETT
Emzy Stuart Garrett, a resident of San Marcos, passed away August 13, 2014 at the age of 87. He was born August 11, 1927 in San Antonio, TX to Emzy S. Garrett and Frankie Lee Sweeney. He married his wife Joyce Kostelnik on September 12, 1953. They were blessed with five children.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of San Marcos; two sons, Michael Garrett of Houston and Fr. Patrick Garrett of The Woodlands, TX; two daughters, Mary Beth Parsons and her husband Gary of Bryan, TX and Julie House of San Marcos. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jamie Parsons, Lauren Parsons, Pam House, Terry House, and Laura House. He was preceded in death by a son, James Gordon Garrett.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 17 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home, 2001 Old Ranch Road 12, San Marcos, with a vigil and rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday, August 18 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, San Marcos, TX. Interment will be held Tuesday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m. at San Fernando Cemetery #2 in San Antonio.
