Born in Conroe, Texas and having spent his childhood in Houston, Bill attended Texas A&M University, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture, and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He returned to Houston and began an architectural career that spanned
almost 50 years. He moved to South Carolina and in 1970 became a principal in Pearlstine-Anderson before going into private practice, which continued until recently. His contributions include new building designs, additions, renovations, interior design, planning,
feasibility studies, design studies, master plans, historical restoration and other consulting services. During this time he served the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as past chairman of Building Code Task Group, past Chairman and member of Building
Performance and Regulations Committee Steering Group, past Director of the SCAIA, 24 year member and past Chairman of SC Building Code Council, Southern Building Code Congress, Fire Prevention Committee, and member of SC Seismic Safety Consortium. He was author

Years of SC Architecture” by Clemson University.
