They organized blood drives and stayed by her side the many months she was in the hospital. Words can't express our gratitude to this family.
In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in Ashley's memory may be directed to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center at Gifts.mdanderson.org for the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. Donations of blood are always desperately needed.
Special thanks to Stefan Octavian Ciurea, MD and Jan Burger, MD as well as the outstanding nurses on the Leukemia, Stem Cell Transplant and Intensive Care Units. Vicky and Warner want to acknowledge the nurses' professionalism, clinical expertise and compassion they showed Ashley. Vicky would also like to send a special thanks to the management of US Imaging and the staff of East Side Surgery Center and Fort Bend Surgery Center for their love, support and blood donations.
