I am proud to be a deployed Aggie with the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Kabul, Afghanistan. I am serving here on a year long deployment and assigned as the Camp Phoenix Task Force (TF) Surgeon. I meet Soldier Aggies here everyday and instantly
feel connected and it provides an additional layer of comfort in our home away from home. The medical clinic which I run here, is a SERIOUS Aggie hangout and I'm proud to fly my A&M flag for all who see it, but especially, in the face of the enemy! One of
the shopkeepers (Local Afghani) heard me talking about Texas A&M so much that he embroidered the flags. The banner which overhangs the entrance stands as testament that one may be a stranger before entering, but they will be embraced by the passion of an
Aggie once inside. Gig 'em! CPT(P) Leif Rivera - Class of 2000 - Doctorate HLKN.
