John Langford
September 5, 1934 - January 30, 2014

John Milton Langford, Sr. passed away January 30, 2014 in Waco. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at First United Methodist Church of Waco with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating.
John was born September 5, 1934 in San Antonio to Lane and Emma Langford, and grew up in Bandera where he graduated from Bandera High School. John attended Texas A&M University where he was a distinguished student. During his junior year, John married Nancy Jean Bartula of Bremond on January 2, 1954. He was accepted into the School of Veterinary Medicine, but was unable to attend. He graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. John worked for Conlee Seed Co. for ten years and was transferred to Waco. He and his wife Nancy started their own business, Langford Distributing Company, which has served Central and West Texas for 47 years. They also owned and operated West Wholesale Grocery in Waco for 25 years.
John was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waco. He had a great sense of humor, loved his church, his family, friends, ranching, playing bridge, and all things Aggie!
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Milton Langford Jr.; daughter, Nancy Delane Langford; and a brother, Edwin Lane Langford.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy; a daughter, Debbie Langford Keneson and her husband, Mike of Bandura; adopted daughter, Libby Jean Langford of Kerrville; grandchildren, Lindsey Langford and Logan Langford of Katy; and great-granddaughter, Alexandria of Kerrville; daughter-in-law, Kathi Langford of Katy; sister-in-law, Ann Langford of Houston; nephew, David Langford; niece, Dr. Katie Langford; and many cousins.

The family especially thanks the physicians, nurses, and caregivers of Hillcrest Hospital.
