NAYLOR
Joe O. Naylor Jr., 93, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 in lrving, TX. Mr. Naylor was founder and owner of Pied Piper Exterminating Company. He and his beloved wife and partner,
Pauline, operated the Company for 45 years. He is survived by sons Patrick O. Naylor and wife Betsy of lrving, Texas and Matthew S. Naylor of Canyon Lake. Grandsons are Andrew and John of !rving, Texas. Mr. Naylor attended Breckenridge High School (Life member Mid-Thirties Club), St. Mary's University and Texas A&M University. A veteran of World War ll, he left A&M shortly after December 7, 1941 and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. ln the spring and summer of 1942 he witnessed the sinking and burning of many ships by German U Boats off the coast of Florida. Aboard the Coast Guard Cutter he
helped rescue many seaman including the brother of a former football teammate from San Antonio Pest Control Association. As a member of the Northwest Kiwanis Club he helped sponsor and coach baseball at NW YMCA for nine years. He was an avid deer hunter and life member of the National Rifle Association. "A deer blind was my church. I spent many long hours in one, not merely to kill a deer but to observe and appreciate plants and animals, masterpieces of the Great Creator." Graveside service will be Saturday, February 1, 2O14 at Mission Burial Park South at 3:00pm.
