Lt. Col. Noel "Frank" Miller, USAF
Noel "Frank" Miller, 94, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2013, at his home in Anchorage in the presence of his wife of 71 years, Louise Miller.
A service with military honors was held November 12 at the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery where he joined his beloved son, William Craig Miller, in the Columbarium Wall.
Frank was a World War II veteran and Texas A&M graduate who served in the USAF for 28 years. He was last stationed at Elmendorf where he served as the Resident Auditor.
Frank and Louise retired to Escondido, California, moved to Whidbey Island, Washington, and finally settled back in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1989 to join their family and especially their only grandson, Erik.
Frank lived in Anchorage, Alaska, for the remainder of his long and joyous life. He spent his summers traveling in his RV throughout Alaska and fishing on his boat, "Sugar", in Seward. "Sugar" was also his favorite nickname for his beloved wife. He made many
of his most valued friends in this time. Dear friends in attendance at his memorial include the Boring family, represented by Chuck, Iris, and Charles, and the Anderson family represented by Tricia, daughter of close friends Joanne and Dick.
Frank was loved and admired by his family and friends throughout his life. His service to his country and his unending support and love for his family will always be remembered and treasured.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Miller; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Richard Schmidt; grandson, Erik Schmidt; all of Anchorage, and his brother, Dick Miller of Akron, Mich.
