Michael J. Erdman
Michael J. Erdman, 54, of Wyoming, Mich., formerly of Midland, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 14, 2013, at his residence. He was born April 2, 1959, in Saginaw, son of James and Jean (Robinette) Erdman of Midland. Michael was a 1977 graduate of Midland High
School and received his degree in engineering from Texas A.M. in 1984. He was a resident of Grand Rapids for several years where he worked with the Salvation Army. He enjoyed being a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. His hobbies included going to the
beach in Grand Haven, crossword puzzles, playing euchre and scrabble, hunting and fishing. Surviving besides his parents, Jim and Jean, are his children, Tim Erdman of Washington, D.C. and Annie Erdman of Lakeland, Fla.; four brothers; two sisters and their
spouses, Dan and Susan Erdman of Midland; Jim and Krystal Erdman of Howard City; Jeff Erdman of Levering; Mark Erdman of Dexter; Kathy Erdman of Houston, Texas; and Mary Ann and Cameron Batten of Little River, S.C. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews,
Rachel Batten, Ashley Batten, Daniel Erdman, Elijah Erdman and Grace Erdman; the mother of his children, Sheryl White of Lakeland, Fla.; and his fiancée, Anita Warren of Grand Rapids. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2013,
from Assumption B.V. M. Catholic Church. Father Joseph M. Griffin will officiate, with burial to follow in the New Calvary Cemetery. Mike's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., today from 4-7 p.m., and at
the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the liturgy. A vigil service will take place at 6 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Salvation Army of Grand Rapids.
