Memorial service for James Carroll Adams, 73, of Wills Point is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Mike Stone officiating. He passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, in Dallas. James was born October 12, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of J.D. Adams and Elizabeth Furrh Adams. He was raised in the Wills Point area and in 1958, he graduated from Wills Point High School. James retired as a Major in the United States Air Force. He later graduated from Texas A&M at College Station in 1963 and in 1983. He had been employed by Lockheed-Martin in Ft. Worth, retiring after seventeen years and was a substitute teacher for Milford I.S.D. and the Wills Point I.S.D. On July 7, 2007, he married Sue Nelson Yeary in Wills Point. He lived in Weatherford prior to moving back to Wills Point in 2007. He enjoyed reminiscing about his time spent in the Air Force, playing solitaire and collecting model trains. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his parents; son, James Matthew Adams and an infant sister, Elizabeth Ann Adams. James is survived by his wife, Sue Yeary, of Wills Point; son, John David Adams, of Beaumont; daughter, Caron Adams, of Houston; three brothers, David Adams, of Wills Point, Joe Adams & wife, Reba, of Wills Point and Cecil Adams & wife, Cindy, of Wills Point; three grandchildren, Taylor Adams, Christopher Adams and Jessica Adams; one great-grandchild; aunt, Susan "Shorty" Stephens, of Wills Point; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
