What is your most memorable Aggie experience? A&M provided me with so many memorable experiences; it is really hard to pick just one! The dedication of our Bonfire memorial really stands out in my mind. I also have quite a few fond memories
of fish camp, both as a freshman and as a counselor. And I will never forget how exciting it was to beat Oklahoma in 2002. It is still one of the most amazing games I have attended.
How has your time at Texas A&M impacted where you are today, personally and/or professionally?
Texas A&M helped mold me into the person that I am today. Of course my life is drastically different than it
was in college (there is no way I could go to Northgate three nights in a row now), but I am so thankful for all of the experiences that led me to where I am. My time at Texas A&M prepared me to really take hold of my future. So many lessons were learned, both
personally and professionally, while I was in school that are absolutely invaluable to me today.
Where do you want to be in 5 years?
In five year, I hope that Wes and I will have a few kiddos in addition to the “fur babies” we have right
now. I also hope to be the successful owner of my own business, allowing me the flexibility needed to be home with my children, while also being a working Mom. I also hope to be just as active in the local community as I am currently. Wes and I have really
enjoyed finding our place in Dallas, with the friends we keep, church we attend, and places we go. I hope to be able to give back as much as possible.
Where can we find you when you are not at work? What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or Sunday afternoon? The majority of my free time is spent building my personal business, Pie Flutin’ Pastries here in Dallas. Pie Flutin’ came about
after I got back from my honeymoon and realized I just couldn’t see myself in the corporate world for the rest of my life. I absolutely love to bake, so it just seemed natural to me to start a bakery. When I am not baking, I spend a lot of free time with
my husband, training for marathons, playing with our puppies, and of course cheering for our Aggies in whatever sport they might be playing.
Any volunteer activities you’re crazy about? Any nonprofits you love & why? I’m an active member of the Junior League in Dallas and absolutely love my time spent teaching kids how to play tennis through the
Dallas Tennis Association. It is an amazing group of volunteers with patience levels that I can only dream of having! Outside of Junior League, my other passion is with animal rescue groups. I have volunteered with several in Dallas (Paws in the City, DFW Lab
Rescue, DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue) and have fostered so many wonderful puppies. One of the greatest feelings is when you find the perfect owner for a dog you have been fostering. People always say “I don’t know how you do it; I would get too attached.” No
matter how attached I would get to one of my fosters, I always knew there were more dogs that needed to be saved from shelters (where they could be put down!). I highly encourage anyone looking for a new four-legged family member to visit a local shelter or
contact a rescue group.
What would be impossible for you to give up? Peanut butter. I give it up every year for Lent and it is always so difficult!
