Homero C. Canales, 73, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 in Corpus Christi. He was born November 5, 1939 in Laredo, Texas to Rosa and Guadalupe Canales. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was an attorney in Alice for over 40 years. He graduated from Texas A&M
University in College Station in 1962 and attended St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alice and the Adult 4 Men’s Sunday School Class. Homero was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Polly Herring.
Survivors include his wife, Alice J. Canales of Alice; two daughters, Jessica (Lee) Lundin of Austin and Allyson Jones of Brooklyn, New York; one son, Ron (Annette) Jones of Austin; one sister, Raquel Vidaurri of Laredo; two brothers, Wallace (Carmelita) Canales
of Alice and Luis (Cecilia) Canales of Houston; four grandchildren, Alexandra Lundin, Dane Lundin, Kate Jones and Tory Jones; and a special friend, Bea Garza. Last but not least Homero and A.J.’s 4 legged family members.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Holmgreen Mortuary with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
A luncheon for family and friends will be given 1 p.m., Friday, March 29th at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Alice.
