Family-Placed Death Notice

McNEIL, Raymond RAYMOND L. (MAC) McNEIL Raymond L. (Mac) McNeil, age 92 of Roswell GA passed away November 8, 2012. He was born on November 6, 1920 in Ennis, Texas to the late Henry Burnett and Leona Hogge McNeil. He graduated from Ennis High School and Texas A&M (1942) Corps of Cadets and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Force. He led his group The Crusaders on 36 combat missions in the South Pacific Theatre in his B-25 Mitchell aircraft. He was discharged as a captain. He met his wife of 66 years Marie Hetrick formerly of Oak Harbor Ohio at Wright Patterson Air Force base in Dayton Ohio. After his discharge in 1947 he began his career as a Mechanical Engineer with Armco Steel in Middletown Ohio. His career took him to many places including Pittsburgh, Dayton, Montreal, Chicago, and Oakland CA where he retired in 1982. They relocated to Roswell GA in 1985 and became members at Horseshoe Bend Country Club where they socialized and enjoyed his favorite hobby golf for many years. He is survived by his wife Marie H. McNeil; his sister Mildred McNeil Davis of Houston TX; his son and daughter-in-law Alan and Susan McNeil of Spokane WA; his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Warren Hamilton Jr. of Roswell GA; grandchildren Patrick McNeil, Ashley McNeil Johnson, Warren Hamilton III and several nieces and nephews. Mac was predeceased by his brothers Clarence and Henry Burnett Jr., sisters Orel Groves, Ara Clarady, Winnie McNeil, Cora Elizabeth Harper, and Helen Clem. Please join the family for a Celebration of Life Memorial Service Wednesday November 14th at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell GA at 2:00 pm.
