Robert Michael Alaniz (Bobby) Born in Robstown, Texas on November 15, 1958 to Librado (Lee) and Margarita Lopez Alaniz. He is preceeded in death by his father Librado Alaniz. Survived by his Mother, Margarita and his two children; Austin Robert and Laura Michelle Alaniz, three brothers; Orlando, Ed, and Jim; six nieces and nephews and one great niece and one great nephew.

After a two and a half year battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer, the Lord took Bobby to be with him in heaven, just after sunrise on November 7, 2012.

Bobby played Varsity Baseball and Basketball at Weslaco High School. Bobby went on to attend Texas A&M University, receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering. Bobby was a certified Professional Engineer and retired after 31 years of management at AT&T. Bobby started his career with Southwestern Bell/AT&T in December of 1980 and worked with telephone, internet and broadband communications.

Bobby moved to Cypress, Texas with AT&T in 2007 and attended West Houston Church of Christ and enjoyed the motorcycle mission ministries (No Man Left Behind). Bobby was a member of Traditions Club in Bryan/College Station and the Pan-American Golf Association.

His hobbies included golf, playing in annual pro-ams and visiting his favorite golf courses. He also enjoyed coaching his son's baseball and soccer teams and taking his daughter out on motorcycle rides and shopping. Bobby lived life at one pace (his), and making sure he and his kids made the most of each day when together. His favorite vacations were snow skiing or finding a new golf course. Bobby always greeted colleagues and friends with his smile and twinkly eyes. His laugh was unmistakable. Bobby was quick witted, his one-liners and unending love will be missed.
