Fred Morris Webb, of 79 Chimney Ridge Court, Altavista died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Jacqueline Thomas Clay-Webb.
He was born January 22, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee, a son of the late Bomar Odell Webb and Nora May Massie Webb. He was a retired President of Old Dominion Homes, a member of First Baptist Church, enjoyed flying, playing golf and tennis, was a proud Aggie graduate from Texas A&M University and proudly served his country as a navigator in the United States Air Force during the Cold War.
He is survived by two sons, John Webb and his wife Rachel of Fayetteville, NC and Michael Webb and his wife Michelle, of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Sheri Webb Loven and her husband, Bill, of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Hallie Thomas of Altavista; a niece, Kay Smothers and her husband Ron and special friends, Sue and Kenneth Allen.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Lain Webb, one brother and three sisters.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC 27612, by the Rev. Dr. Michael Lee. Military Rites will be conducted by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends anytime at the residence.
