'64 Classmates,
HOWDY! The long and hot summer is upon us and Aggieland endures +100 degree temps regularly. We are having a bit more rain these days, but only a bit, so we are avoiding, so far, the forest fires which plagued us the past couple of years. Many states are not
faring so well, and we wish for those of you in those areas safety and good health. As you might expect, SEC activities are ongoing now and include our new AD, signage changes, studies on Kyle Field and many, many more activities. Soon it will be time to suit
up and enter the contests. At this time, A&M summer camps for students from all across this state and nation are underway and thousands are involved. There are activities underway with huge potential consequences/results on the table for A&M, not the least
of which are a possible law school addition and a huge financial boost for research on, and production of, medical-related products. Of course, the Aggie family is still not of one mind about many things related to our university, and I imagine that will continue.
I'll conclude with the update about our email address effort, which is not going well. We can contact about 81% of our classmates by snail-mail, but only about 49% by email. If we lose the snail-mail venue, then we potentially lose contact with a large percentage
of our classmates. We'll continue to work on this matter, and in the meantime we ask you to help us get email addresses for all of our classmates. Every classmate can help by encouraging all others with whom you have contact to send in an email address to
the AFS.
God bless, and Gig 'em! George
