Dr. Karen Gunn is the owner of Veterinary Medical Center of Spring.  She is a 1994 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.  She practiced briefly in North Carolina before coming back home to Texas.  Dr. Gunn has been at this hospital since 1997.  She fell in love with the wonderful clients and patients and knew that this would be her home as she has built quite a bond with the many wonderful people in this area and their "furry" children.

Dr. Gunn is a passionate and driven individual in all areas of her life.  She takes pride in maintaining a facility with equipment that will offer the latest technology and medical care possible for your pet.  She attends 50 + hours of veterinary continuing education each year to remain on the cutting edge of medicine.  Her special areas of interest in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, dermatology, and dentistry and pain management.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society, American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Harris County Veterinary Association, Montgomery County Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), and the Better Business Bureau.  She is also active in The Woodlands Dog Park Club.

Dr. Gunn has two children, Austin and Ashley.  The Gunns have one cat, an orphaned rescue named Opie; Sturgis, a Golden Retriever; and Benji, a three-legged rescue.  Dr. Gunn spends her time off with her family relaxing at home. She loves to travel and also enjoys running, weight-lifting, obstacle course runs such as Warrior Dash or any other physical challenge that she can find!

2 dead in Woodlands murder-suicide

A veterinarian and her husband were found fatally shot around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon at their home in The Woodlands.

Graham Gunn, 56, reportedly shot his estranged wife Karen Gunn, 44, at the family’s home on West
Greenvine Court. The couple, married in May 1997, had been separated for several months, authorities said.

A neighbor called the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office after one of the couple’s children ran over saying that the her mother and father were shot. Deputies found the two in the backyard, authorities said.

An online biography for Karen Gunn lists her as the owner of Veterinary Medical Center of Spring and as a 1994 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Graham Gunn is listed as an employee of Logoworks by HP. The couple had two children.
