Mr. Keith Chumley, age 64, longtime resident of San Augustine, passed from this life in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 19, 2012, in San Augustine.
Keith was born on July 14, 1947, in San Augustine, Texas, to Corine (Isenblitter) Chumley and Earl Edward Chumley, Sr. He served in the Navy during Vietnam in the Sea Bees. He was on the Board of Directors for Texas Farm Bureau, Served on the Junior Livestock Committee, and was a member of the VFW, and DAV. He was a member of the Neuville Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in the First Baptist Church, San Augustine, with Bro. Clint Hines, and Bro. Larry Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in the Chumley Cemetery in San Augustine County. Visitation will be Monday evening, May 21, 2012, from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas 7972
Those who are left to cherish his memory include: wife, Maxie Amburn Chumley of San Augustine; Mother, Corine Chumley of San Augustine; Brother, Earl Edward Chumley, Jr and his wife, Verna of Weir, Ms.; Sisters, Kathie Haley and her husband, Richard of San Augustine; Dianne Chumley of Dallas; step children: Shonia Putman and her husband Keith of Shelbyville; Lesa Robertson and her husband, Randy of Center; Rodney Waller of San Augustine; Tammie Jacobs and her husband, Scott of Venas; step-grandchildren, Josh/Jonie Windham, Adam Copelin, Jennifer/Nick Sims, B.J./Jessica Greer, Colton Norton, Caleb Norton, Kasie Waller, Cade Copelin, Shelby, R.T. and Jessie Jacobs; and 9 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Ellen Chumley Brown and her husband Travis, Linda Chumley Thigpen and her husband Howard, Trey, Cici, Hunter and Sam Haley, Christian Sparks and Lisa Massey; great nieces Cara Rae Brown, Veronica Leigh Brown, Avery Thigpen; great nephew Denton Thigpen; caregiver Jodi Page Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Earl Edward Chumley, Sr.
