Hal Minter Parks

Hal Minter Parks passed away on May 8, 2012. He was born on August 2, 1933 in Aransas Pass, Texas to Hal and Lucy Minter Parks.

He was a life long resident and graduated from APHS in 1950. He received his Bachelor degree from Texas A&M University College Station in 1954, then served in the US Army. He returned to Aransas Pass and retired from Reynolds Metals Aluminum after 30 years. He coached his sons and many others in baseball and also served on the APISD School Board for numerous years. He was a member and past President of Prairie View Cemetery Association, served on the Navigation District Board and he was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Hal was a man of his word and he lived his life with integrity. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was his first and foremost love and concern.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, High School sweetheart and love of his life, Florence Parks; two sons, Hal Minter Parks, Jr. (Ginger) of Decater, Alabama and Todd Spears Parks (Alisa) of Tomball, Texas; two daughters, Kimberly Parks Peters (James) of Katy, Texas and Kelly Lea Parks Weeks (Weldon) of Arlington, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Rob Peters, Annie Peters Sharp, Christopher Parks, Karen Parks, Kyle Parks, Caroline Morlan, Todd Ross Parks, Kaley Weeks, Konley Weeks and Kimberly Weeks; four great grandchildren, Luke Sharp, Kimberly Sharp, Grant Peters and Charlie Peters. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to First United Methodist Church, 523 S. 8th St., Aransas Pass, Texas 78336.

Visitation will begin at 2:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. with family to receive friends from 4:00p.m.-5:30p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
