William Wilkins Harper Jr.
April 8, 1931 - May 2, 2012

William W. Harper, Jr. 81, of Cameron died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in a Cameron hospital. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The body was cremated.

Mr. Harper, a retired salesman, was born April 8, 1931 in Houston to William W. and Virginia Isabelle (Morrison) Harper. He was a 1953 graduate of Texas A & M earning a Bachelors of Business Administration degree. He served as a 1st Lt. In the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He is survived by numerous cousins.

William Wilkens Harper, Jr. died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in a Cameron Hospital at the age of 81. His body was cremated.

Memorial Service was held Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Ledbetter Park Auxiliary Hut, Cameron, Texas. Interment at Hale-Miranda Family Property at a later time.

The son of William Wilkens Harper, Sr. and Virginia Isabelle Morrison Harper was born on April 8, 1931 in Houston.

Mr. Harper was an only child and was preceded in death by his Daddy, William W. Harper, Sr. on January 19, 1965 at the age of 71. His mother passed on April 10, 1978 at the age of 76.

Mr. Harper graduated from Lamar High School (Houston) in 1949 and entered Texas A&M in the Fall of 1949. He graduated in 1953 earning a Bachelor in Business Administration degree and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army. He served in the Transportation Corps for two years and was discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.

Mr. Harper traveled all over the world, whether it was in the Service or where his job took him. He spent his business career in the sales field for a laboratory supply firm. He retired and was a very content person. In the early part of November 2010 Mr. Harper suffered a massive heat attack and was in the hospital about two months. He then went to a local nursing home where he spent the rest of his days.
