LYLE L. PAYNE Jr.
PAYNE, LYLE L., JR. - age 83, of Knoxville, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the North Knoxville Medical Center, after a brief illness. He grew up in Houston, Texas, graduated from Texas A&M, and served in the Korean War as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army. Lyle was in the oil industry for over 30 years, and was Co-Owner of the Crystal Vase, in Houma, Louisiana, for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Bernice Payne. Lyle is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancye C. Payne; son, Robert B. Payne and wife, Karen; daughter, Carol Payne Smith; grandson, Keith Smith and wife, Pam; granddaughters, Bridgette Payne and Jill Norton; great grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter, Andrew, and Nicole.
