RHOADES, LEE, age 89 of Rockwall, TX, passed away April 14, 2003. He was born March 11, 1914, in Rockwall, TX, to Charles F. & Battice (Lofland) Rhoades. Mr. Rhoades married Helen Burgess of Cooper, TX, on March 14, 1950. He graduated from Texas A & M, Bryant, TX in 1942 with a BSA. He was an agriculturalist, rancher, farmer and lifelong resident of Rockwall, and a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Rhoades was also well known for his gardening expertise and often had friends and neighbors stop by for advice. He is survived by his wife: Helen Rhoades; brother: Joe Rhoades; a nephew; numerous nieces; and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Amy Parks. Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Friday, April 18, 2003, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith P. Boone and Rev. Sara Hardaway officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 7:00 to 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Ave., Waco, TX, 76708, or First United Methodist Church, 1408 S. Goliad, Rockwall, TX 75087.
