Joe L. Meyer
August 18, 1927 - March 25, 2012

A loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, at the age of 84. He was born in Palestine, TX. He graduated from Texas A&M after serving in the Marine Corp during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He met his wife of 60+ years, Margaret at Camp Pendleton-a Navy Nurse who outranked him. He was a lover of all animals, an avid golfer with three holes in one, and an expert hula hooper. He worked for WH Patterson and Company as a civil engineer, retiring from the City Parish Dept. of Public Works at the age of 70.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Zantow Meyer; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Douglas Harris, Jean Meyer, Laura and David Hinchee, and Becky and Jimmy Evans; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Erica Meyer; and grandchildren, Jacob, Ava, and Nick Meyer.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from 12 PM until service at 2 PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
