Will Kimball, 80, passed away at home surrounded by loving and comforting family on March 18th.
He was born April 14, 1931, in Adrian, Michigan, to Edward & Mildred (Boyer) Kimball. He lived in the Tri-Cities for 41 years and was a member of Christ the King Church in Richland, WA. He was also a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Will graduated from Texas A&M in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a member of the Former Students Association and the 12th Man Foundation.
Starting in 1954 he served eight years on active and reserve duty with the Air Force. While on active duty, he was an Air Electronics Officer on the F-860 with the 71st Fighter Interceptor Squadron. He was a member of the Air Force Association.
Will began his professional career in 1956 with Westinghouse at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA. That is where he met and married his wife, Mary Ann Viviano, on April 12, 1958, and started a family that included five children. He was transferred
to Richland, WA, in 1970 to work on the FFTF Project. He retired from Westinghouse Hanford Co. in 1993 as a Procurement Manager with 37 years of service.
Will was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathy and brothers Edward and Frank. His loving wife of 43 years, Mary Ann, passed away November 17, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by sister Patty in Houston, Texas. Also his five children: Tom Kimball and Lori Brazell of Richland; Kristine Redmond and husband Dennis of Kennewick; Fran Windisch and her husband Chuck of Richland; Greg of Phoenix, AZ; Justine Hoglund and husband
Steve of Issaquah, WA. Will profoundly loved and was proud of this grandchildren: Haylie and Hannah Kimball; Nick, Cassidy and Tanner Martin; Tommy Windisch; Michael and Traci Kimball; Sam and Griffin Fish; and Whitney and Jordan Hoglund.
Will enjoyed cooking with BBQ as his specialty, gardening, history, watching a good western movie and his passion was Texas Aggie Football. He and his wife Mary Ann loved to travel and sailed on many world cruises.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Christ the King Church, Richland. Graveside services will follow at 1:45 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, concluding with a reception at Memories at Sunset Event Center.
