L.J. McGee Sr.
March 21, 1925 – March 12, 2012
Luther Joseph "L.J." McGee, Sr., 86, was called home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2012. L.J. was a lifelong resident of Bryan, Texas.
He graduated from S.F.A. High School and attended Texas A&M College prior to serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge he returned to Bryan and completed his degree from Texas A&M. L.J. worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in
1980 after 35 years of service. He owned McGee Bookkeeping & Tax Service for over 50 years, retiring due to health in December 2011.
L.J. was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years, his sister and brother-in-law. He is survived by one son, Joe and wife Lynne; grandchildren, John and Clayton; one daughter, Susan and husband Darrell; grandchildren, Shannon, Brian and wife Ashley
and nephew Woody.
A private graveside service was held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 with William Plott officiating. Hillier Funeral Home is entrusted to his care.
The family wishes to thank the many caregivers and medical staff from Texas Home Health Hospice, Sherwood Health Care Center, Park Place Assisted Living and the College Station Medical Center.
