William R. Sparks Jr.
February 28, 1940 - February 29, 2012
William R. Sparks, Jr. age 72, of Plano, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. He was born on February 28, 1940, in Houston, TX, to the late William R. and Hazel Sparks. William earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A & M in 1965. He retired from the Celanese Chemical Company after 15 years of service. In 1983, William and his wife, Glenda, started Insurance Affiliates in Plano, which they owned and operated for many years. He was a member of Hunters Glen Baptist Church for several years. William enjoyed hunting and loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Glenda Sparks; four children, Christie Sparks-Moore of Waco, Trae Sparks of Thornton, William R. Sparks III of Plano, and Wayne Sparks and his wife, Joanna, of Allen; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Nicholas, Tanner, Grace, Caleb, Preston and Hunter Sparks; brother, Clifton E. Sparks and his wife, Jergen, of Plano; and sister, Euna Reiter of Fredericksburg.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2pm in Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Rd., Plano, TX 75023 with Brother Ed Fleming officiating. Interment will be in King Cemetery in Limestone County, Texas on Monday, March 5, 2012.
