Joseph Norman Wanja
Joseph Norman Wanja, of Brownsville, Texas, passed peacefully on February 3rd, 2012, at 2:15 a.m. after a long struggle with cancer which lead to severe COPD. He was born to Mr. & Mrs. L.F. Wanja at Hickham field Oahu 2 wks prior to the day of infamy.
He was a graduate of meterology in the class of '63 from Texas A&M while proudly serving in the corps of cadets marching band. A secondary bachelor's degree for Science of Psychology was achieved from UTB in 2001.
His hobbies/interestes included ornithology, Boy Scouts w/ troop 61, geanology, and nature.
He is survived by his wife Diane; sons Lawrence, Michael (wife Kelli Kray), and John (wife Mirna Wanja); and granddaughter Lea Kathleen.
Viewing to be held Feb. 5 th from 1 to 9 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donation to Sunshine Haven Inc. hospice home 7105 West Lakeside Boulevard, Olmito, Texas, 78575, in memory of Joe Wanja.
Honorary pallbearers are sons Larry, Michael, and John with Thomas Vicknair and retired Colonel Gilmore
