Donald Joe Hardin
Donald Joe Hardin of Houston passed away early Thursday morning, Aug. 18, 2011. Don was born July 31, 1956 to Joe Kenneth and Agnes Hardin of Kaufman, Texas.
Don graduated from Kaufman High School and attended Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. While attending college he met and married his wife of 34 years Linda Frakes Hardin. They moved to Houston, where Don worked
in the design of offshore oil platforms, ultimately taking employment with Intermoor t. Don enjoyed traveling and had visited all six inhabited continents. He was an avid fan of the Houston Rockets.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Kenneth, and grandparents, Rosser Vernon and Lottie Hardin of Kaufman and Q.C. and Lela Ewing of Scurry, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Linda and their two children, Laurie Hardin, a graduate of the University of Texas and resident of Houston, and son, Keith and his wife Joelle Hardin, both graduates of the University of Houston who reside in Houston.
He is also survived by his mother, Agnes Hardin of Kaufman; sister, Debbie Miller of Plano; nephews, Zack Latham of Plano, Andrew Miller, Brandon Miller, and Nick Miller of Richardson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, friends and loved
ones.
A memorial service celebrating Don’s life was held Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 in the chapel of D.M. Dettling Funeral Directors, 14094 Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas.
