Al Johnson
(November 20, 1930 - August 27, 2011)
Al Johnson, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Saturday, August 27, at the age of 80. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Nancy Johnson, of Fredericksburg, 2 daughters Alison Jane Johnson Huff of Sugarland and Kimberly McKay Johnson of Fredericksburg. He is
also survive by a sister Carolyn Hope Hildebrand and husband Kelly of Kerrville, 2 brothers Rex Johnson and wife Cappy of Rocksprings and Jerry Johnson and wife Judy of London, 2 grandchildren Amanda Kathryn Huff and Dillon Locket Huff. He was preceded in
death by a brother James M. Johnson.
Nathaniel Al Johnson was born in London, Texas on November 20, 1930 to Nathaniel Mogford Johnson and Inez Amelia Glidden Johnson. He graduated from Menard High School when he was only 16 years old and attended Schriener Institute (now Schreiner College) and
Tarleton before graduating from Texas A & M with a degree in agriculture. He taught school and then worked for a feed company before serving in the Army from 1954 to 1956. After his time in the Army Al went into the cattle business. He was a well known and
respected cattle buyer with a reputation for honesty and integrity. He loved to watch football and baseball on TV in his spare time. In 1995 Al and Nancy moved to Fredericksburg where he was an active member in the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. It
should also be mentioned that he loved pets.
A memorial service for Al Johnson will be held on Friday September 16, 2011 at 2:00p.m. at the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg.
