Donald Allan Maxwell Sr.
April 23, 1938 – September 6, 2011

Donald Allan Maxwell, Sr., passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 8, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Reverend Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating.

Donald was born to Ross and Helen Maxwell on April 23, 1938 in Austin. Don received his B.S. from the University of Texas in 1962, M.S. from University of Texas in 1964 and PhD from Texas A&M in 1968.

He was a Professor of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M for 34 years. He was a former Chairman of the state of Texas Automated Information and Telecommunications Council. He served on the city of Bryan Planning and Zoning Commission from 2005 to 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne; sons, Ross and wife, Irma Maxwell, of Bryan, Allan and wife, Tracy Maxwell, of San Antonio; daughters, Ann and husband, Renaud Chauvet, of Wollongong, Australia, and Nora and husband, Frank Hubach, of Dallas; grandchildren, Angela Bice, Ashton Maxwell, Zachary and Lucy Maxwell, Vincent and Margaux Chauvet, and Charles and Madeleine Hubach; brother, Bruce and wife, Tita Maxwel,l of Austin; numerous nieces and nephews as well as other relatives.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Juddi Yeh and the staff at Scott and White, Dr. Tseng, St. Joseph Hospital, Magnified Nursing Home, and the staff at both Traditions Hospice and M.D. Anderson.
