Herbert Lawrence Barrett
July 6, 1929 – September 2, 2011

Herbert Lawrence Barrett, 82, Of Bryan, passed from his time here on Earth to join our Lord in Heaven on September 2, 2011. A memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony's on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 1p.m. Reverend Patrick Ebner will officiate. Inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Herb was born to Lawrence Herbert Barrett and Viola Henderson in Edison, New Jersey on July 6th, 1929. Alma Barrett help raise Herb with his father after his mother passed away. He served his country in World War II in the Corps of Engineers and in the Korean War with the Air Force. After serving his country he attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a double major in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

During his schooling at A&M he met his future wife Marie Grace Bonano. They later married on November 15th, 1953. As a family they traveled the country and world for his work with John Brown. During this time they had four children. Herbert was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1834 Bryan, TX as well as a devoted member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Herb loved the Lord and his country and had the most amazing relationship with his family that he adored. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Marie Grace Barrett, his children Sharon Rao, Debbie
& Ron Gutterud, Donna & Russell Cardot, and Ronald & Lupe Barrett, his 14 grandchildren, and his 12 great-grandchildren. Also, his sister, Beverly and Vincent Komar and his brother, Richard and Shirley Barrett
