David F. Kendall, 48; Loved small boat sailing

YARMOUTH — David Feick Kendall, 48, died July 8 in a boating accident in Gloucester, Mass.

He was born March 11, 1963, a son of John P. and Nancy F. Kendall, of Marion, Mass., and lived in Yarmouth.

He graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1981, Texas A&M in 1985, and Pepperdine University with a master's in business administration in 1992.

He worked for Western Sod of Casa Grande, Ariz., and for the carrier division of United Technology in Syracuse, N.Y., Singapore, and Mexico City.

He also worked as the general manager for Kaiser Aluminum in Chandler, Ariz. and Newark, Ohio.

In Maine, he was a consultant for Hodgdon Yachts.

He was a licensed boat captain whose interests included scuba diving, snow sports, wood working and small boat sailing. He was a member of the Beverly Yacht Club and Sippican Tennis Club of Marion, Mass., and the Portland Yacht Club. He recently skippered his sailboat in the Marion to Bermuda race.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Haight Kendall; three children, Daniel Henry Kendall, 16, Hannah Colleen Kendall, 15, and Samuel John Kendall, 15 months; his brother, Andrew Way Kendall, his sister Sarah Kendall Mitchell; and many loved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00am in the West Falmouth Baptist Church at 18 Mountain Road, Falmouth, ME.
