Archie Kotara
Archie Henry Kotara was born on February 26, 1925 in Cestohowa, Texas and passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the age of 86. Archie was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who dearly loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Helen & Henry Kotara; sister Theresa Kotara Fohn; brothers-in-law Jack Fohn and Dan Kresta; and son Paul. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Emily Kresta Kotara; daughter Shirley Landers and her husband Jerry; son Ken Kotara and his wife Therese; son Gary Kotara and his wife Eva; daughter Susan Kotara; grandchildren Alden, Alison, Emily, Nicolas, Pablo, Steven and his wife Audrey, Sydney, and Tristan; brother Lambert Kotara and his wife Florence; brother-in-law Pete Kresta and his wife Dottie; sister-in-law Margie Kresta; extended family Sondra, Harold, Marissa, Matt and his wife Katherine Dozier; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Archie was an Army veteran and a proud graduate of Texas A&M University. He retired as Chief Structural Engineer after 33 years with Brown & Root. Archie and Emily were founding members of St. Jerome and St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic churches.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 14th, 2011 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 10135 West Road at 6pm with a rosary to follow at 7pm. Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 15th, 2011 at 10am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. Internment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
